Plunge into the World of Opera!
The participants of the 2013 Opera Camps will work together with members of the Vienna Philharmonic and a team of music educators, applied artists, stage directors and choreographers to develop, compose and produce a version of an opera which is concurrently being performed at the Salzburg Festival.
As part of the week long program are featured a tour of the Festival Hall which provides the young people a behind the scenes look at the stage as well as a visit to the painter's studio in the attic of the theater. Among the camps' highlights will surely be the visit to the dress rehearsal where all participants will be able to see and hear their opera. The camps close with the performance of their own opera version, in which the camp participants themselves are the stars.
For the first time in 2013 passwort:klassik will be offering a music camp with an emphasis on instrumental performance. The pre-requisites for participation in the Meistersinger Camp include four years of instrumental or vocal instruction as well as experience in a chamber music ensemble or orchestra.
