Opening of the New Station for Bone-Marrow Transplantation

A ceremony marking the opening of the new station for bone-marrow transplantation was held on October 24, 2008, in the General Hospital of Vienna. Making a musical contribution to the proceedings, which featured a speech by Prof. Dr. Rainer Storb from Seattle, Clemens Hellsberg, Alexander Steinberger, Hans Peter Ochsenhofer and Stefan Kropfitsch (Violoncello, Chairman of the Institute No. 5 for Strings of the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna), performed Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Divertimento in F Major, KV 138.  The participation of members of our orchestra was part of a joint effort initiated last year with the Medical University of Vienna, the results of which will be reported in detail at a later time.
