In the town of Lindau on Lake Constance, the first meeting of Nobel Peace Prize recipients took place in June 1951. In the 61 years following its inception, this event has established itself as a meeting of the highest reputation, with the goal of promoting the exchange of ideas between these recipients and highly qualified young scientists from all over the world. This year's 62nd meeting, at which 27 Nobel Peace Prize Winners and nearly 600 young scientists from 69 countries participated, featured for the first time a chamber music concert with members of the Vienna Philharmonic. Concert master Rainer Küchl, Maxim Brilinsky, Hans-Peter Ochsenhofer and Sebastian Bru performed the String Quartet in E-flat major, Hob. III:38, by Joseph Haydn as well as Mozart's Clarinet Quintet in A major, KV 581, with Matthias Schorn.
