Benefit Concert for CS Hospiz Rennweg

The traditional annual benefit concert given by members of the Vienna Philharmonic on behalf of CS Hospiz Rennweg took place on October 7, 2008. This event has been organized annually since 2001 by Professor Peter Schmidl. This year's event for this institution of Caritas Socialis, which cares for those individuals for whom no more medical healing is possible, was supported by Günter Seifert, Harald Krumpöck, Daniela Ivanova (viola, Vienna State Opera Orchestra), Sebastian Bru (violoncello, Vienna State Opera Orchestra) and Georg Straka, who accompanied various solo offerings. Clemens Hellsberg performed the Violin Concerto in E Major, BWV 1042, by Johann Sebastian Bach with Maria Prinz on harpsichord. Ildikó Raimondi and Peter Schmidl were the protagonists in "Ave Maria" for Soprano, Clarinet and String Quintet by Luigi Cherubini. Clemens Horak performed Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Oboe Quartet in F Major, KV 370, while Peter Schmidl performed the Introduction, Theme and Variations for Clarinet and String Quartet by Carl Maria von Weber. The finale of the concert was the Concerto in E-flat Major for Trumpet and Strings by Johann Baptist Neruda, with Hans Peter Schuh as soloist.
