Benefit Concert for the American Austrian Foundation

On November 5, 2008, a benefit concert for the "American Austrian Foundation" was given for the twelfth time in New York. The main project of the foundation, the "Open Medical Institute", is an endeavour in which medical personnel from the former eastern block states, as well as Asia and Africa, receive advanced medical training from their colleagues in the USA and Austria. In Zankel Hall, the chamber music venue of Carnegie Hall, Ildikó Raimondi, Herbert Lippert, Werner Hink, Clemens Hellsberg, Peter Pecha (Austrian button accordion) and Paul Pecha (Viennese Kontragitarre) performed works of Gustav Pick ("Wiener Fiakerlied"), Robert Stolz ("Im Prater blüh'n wieder die Bäume"), Ralph Benatzky (Ich muß wieder einmal in Grinzing sein!"), and others. The arrangements were provided by Peter Pecha and the moderation for this typically Viennese program was provided by Prof. Dr. Herbert Zeman.
