Concerts for the Society of Friends of Music with Franz Welser-Möst

On April 22/26, 2009, two concerts for the Society of the Friends of Music took place for the occasion of the Spring Festivals and the Anniversary Season "150 Years Wiener Singverein". Franz Welser-Möst conducted a work that was composed in 1958 by Gottfried von Einem in collaboration with Bert Brecht, the "Stundenlied", op. 26, as well as Franz Schubert's Mass in E-flat major, D 950, which he wrote in 1828, only four months before his death. The Singverein was prepared by their chorus director, Johannes Prinz, and the soloists were Genia Kühmeier (soprano), Michaela Selinger (alto), Werner Güra (tenor), Herbert Lippert (tenor) and Florian Boesch (bass). The program was also performed on the 6th Philharmonic Soirée on April 24, 2009.
