Benefit Concert in New York

On December 1, 2010, in Carnegie Hall in New York, the annual benefit concert took place through which for the past thirteen years, the Vienna Philharmonic has supported the American Austrian Foundation. Since due to the Beethoven Cycle in Paris and Berlin (November 23rd - 28th and December 1st - 5th) no chamber music ensembles were available to make the trip to New York, concertmaster Rainer Honeck alone represented the orchestra, performing Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Sonata for Piano and Violin in B-flat major, KV 454, and Ludwig van Beethoven's "Spring Sonata" with the renowned pianist Yefim Bronfman, who for many years has been a close friend of the Vienna Philharmonic.
