Benefit Concert for CS Hospiz Rennweg

The traditional benefit concert of the Vienna Philharmonic for the CS Hospiz Rennweg took place in the Mozart Auditorium of the Vienna Konzerthaus on September 18th.

The program was comprised of Ludwig van Beethoven's Quintet for Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Horn and Piano in E-flat major, op. 16; the Concert Piece No. 2 for Clarinet, Bassoon and Piano by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy; Arthur Honegger's "Danse de la chèvre" for Solo Flute; two compositions by Camille Saint-Saëns (Tarantella for Flute, Clarinet, and Piano and Caprice - Danish and Russian Arias, op.79, for Flute, Oboe, Clarinet and Piano) as well as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Quintet for Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Horn and Piano, KV 452, an outstanding work of chamber music literature about which Mozart stated in a letter to his father dated April 10, 1784: "…I personally believe it to be the best of anything I have ever written."

The performers were Wolfgang Schulz, Clemens Horak, Peter Schmidl, Wolfgang Tomböck, Stepan Turnovsky and Maria Prinz (piano).
