Opera Camps 2011Photo: Felipe Canales
The participants in the Opera Camps 2012 will work closely with orchestra members and a team of music instructors, applied artists, stage directors and choreographers to "compose" their own opera which is in each case is based on the original. In addition, they will experience the Salzburg Festival atmosphere back stage and visit the huge theater workshop in the attic of the Festival Hall. Highlights of the week in the camps are a visit to the dress rehearsal where the young people can hear the original version of their opera and, of course, the final presentation, where the camp participants themselves become the stars!
For the first time this year, a camp for young people from 16 - 18 years of age will take place from August 8 -12, 2012.
