David Kessler was born in Austria in 2000 and received his first violin instruction with Mag. Alexandra Rappitsch. He graduated from the Feldkirch Music High School and then received instruction from Prof. Rudolf Rampf at the College of Music in Trossingen. Since 2019 he has been a student of Prof. Josef Hell at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.

David Kessler has won several first prizes and special prizes for "impressive virtuosity combined with sensitive musicianship". Among these have been the special prize of ESTA Austria, the Bärenreiter Prize as a soloist and chamber musician at Prima la musica Austria and the special prize from Jugend musiziert in Switzerland. As the youngest participant he received the first prize at the Luigi Nono International Chamber Music Competition in Turin in 2017.

David Kessler has obtained orchestral experience as a member of the International Orchestra Institute Attergau (IOIA) and the Vienna Philharmonic Summer Academy in Salzburg, as well as a member and concertmaster of the international Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra of the Verbier Festival in Switzerland. He has also been concertmaster of the Jeunesse Orchestra Camp Austria, the Quarta Four Country Youth Philharmonic and the German Rotary Youth Orchestra.

Beginning in October, 2022, David will be playing on a violin provided by the Österreichische Nationalbank.
