Charity Concert for Caritas Socialis

The annual charity concert for Caritas Socialis and their Hospiz am Rennweg took place on September 11, 2014, in the Mozartsaal of the Vienna Konzerthaus. Our very active retired members Werner Hink, Fritz Dolezal and Peter Schmidl took responsibility for this good deed. Together with Hubert Kroisamer and Matthias Hink (Stage Orchestra of the Vienna State Opera) they performed Joseph Haydn's String Quartet in C major, Hob III:77 (Emperor Quartet), as well as "Crisantemi" by Giacomo Puccini and lastly the Clarinet Quintet, KV 581, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, which utilizes the basset horn so highly favored by the composer. The evening was co-moderated by Peter Schmidl and the ORF commentator Armin Wolf. According to the public relations office of the Caritas Socialis, the exceptionally generous proceeds of €30.000 which were collected on this evening is sufficient to provide the cost of 194 days of aid at the hospice.
