Cancellation of the Vienna Philharmonic Ball 2022

The Vienna Philharmonic Ball 2022 has to be cancelled due to the pandemic.

Daniel Froschauer, Chairman of the Vienna Philharmonic:"We regret to inform that in 2022, the 80th Vienna Philharmonic Ball will not be able to take place.

As a result of the ongoing official measures concerning restrictions to indoor events (ie., Events without an assigned seating plan) being limited to 25 persons, as well the banning on events from 11pm to 5am, in accordance with the latest scientific statements concerning the expected rapid increase in infection rate of the next few weeks, we have been obliged to cancel the Ball.

This decision coincides with our efforts to collectively contain the outbreak of the pandemic. The Vienna Philharmonic looks forward to and hopes for an unreservedly enjoyable Ball experience in Vienna's Musikverein in 2023."
