Concerts with Ingo Metzmacher in Rome and St. Pölten

Following rehearsals and shortly before the scheduled weekend of the first subscription concert with Ingo Metzmacher and the Singverein of the Society of the Friends of Music in Vienna, two additional concerts took place. On Thursday, October 23, 2014, the first of these took place in Rome at the Basilica San Paolo fuori le Mura, where Franz Schubert's "Lazarus" was performed with soloists Steve Davislim, Werner Güra, Rachel Harnisch, Christiane Libor, Sophie Karthaüser and Daniel Schmutzhard. These were the same vocalists who sang at the subscription concerts which followed. The concert in Rome was part of the "Festival Internazionale di Musica e Arte Sacra", which took place for the 13th time in 2014

On the next day, the orchestra traveled to Lower Austria for an additional concert on Friday, October 24th, 2014, in the St. Pölten Festival Hall which featured the first part of the subscription concert program, the "Et exspecto resurrectionem mortuorum" by Olivier Messiaen.
