First European Network of Historical Orchestra Archives

Seven prominent historical orchestra archives joined together in Leipzig in 2013 to form the "Historical Orchestra Archive Network - NOA". In October 2014 the archivists of the Berlin Philharmonic, Dresden Philharmonic, Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig, Luxembourg Philharmonic, Staatskapelle Dresden, Vienna Philharmonic and Vienna Symphony held a conference in Vienna.

Due to the growing awareness of history and tradition, the historical orchestra archives are playing an increasingly prominent role. At the same time, the trend toward networking and an increase in digitalization bring new challenges. Thus, the NOA sees itself as an advisory and supportive forum. The NOA wishes to strengthen commonalities and support the exchange of information at the practical level.
