The Vienna Philharmonic is pleased to announce that it has awarded Andris Nelsons honorary membership.

Andris Nelsons has been closely associated with the Vienna Philharmonic since 2010. He has conducted the Summer Night Concert twice and the Vienna Philharmonic's New Year's Concert in 2020. He regularly conducts the orchestra in subscription concerts at the Vienna Musikverein, at the Salzburg Festival, and on tours in the USA, Europe, and Asia. Following a recording of all Beethoven symphonies with the Vienna Philharmonic in 2019, a complete recording of all Mahler symphonies is scheduled for release in October 2026.

The Vienna Philharmonic's Chairman, Daniel Froschauer, emphasizes the artist's significant role: "We have enjoyed a deep artistic partnership with Andris Nelsons for many years. He is one of the Philharmonic conductors who have become particularly close to the orchestra in recent years."
