For approximately a year and a half, the Vienna Philharmonic and Christian Thielemann have worked on the project "Beethoven 9" - the preparation, performance and recording of all of the symphonies of Ludwig van Beethoven. In conjunction with the performances of all nine symphonies in the Berlin Philharmonie, C Major Entertainment is releasing "Beethoven 9" in High Definition und Surround Sound on DVD and Blu-ray. In addition to the symphonies, UNITEL and ZDF, in conjunction with 3sat and arte, have produced nine one-hour documentaries with Christian Thielemann and Prof. Joachim Kaiser, who with his 60 years of experience is one Germany's most highly regarded music critics. ZDF, ORF, arte, 3sat and Unitel Classica will be broadcasting the symphonies and the documentaries entitled "Discovering Beethoven" in the upcoming weeks.
