International Music Forum Trenta 2011

In July 2011, the "International Music Forum Trenta" took place for the twelfth time. This master class for violin, viola, violoncello and chamber music, which was initiated by our former first violinist and unforgettable pedagogue, Alfred Starr (1938-2000), has been supported in a very generous and ambitious manner by the Bank Austria ever since its conception. This year it was conducted by the instructors Volkhard Steude, Elmar Landerer, Robert Nagy and Professor Peter Götzel, as well as Professor Andreas Rentsch (piano). As usual, final concerts took place in Trenta and Bovec, performed by the best twenty students. The traditional "Trenta Concert" in the Brahmssaal of the Musikverein took place on September 22, with introductory remarks and greetings given to a large audience by Director Dr. Wolfgang Feuchtmüller on behalf of the Bank Austria and Dr. Clemens Hellsberg on behalf of the Vienna Philharmonic. Eleven participants in the course from Austria, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Poland, Moldavian, Russia, and Turkey presented themselves with solo and chamber music compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Anton Hoffmeister, Franz Schubert, Johannes Brahms, Antonín Dvořák, David Popper and Maurice Ravel.
