Bernadette Mayrhofer and Fritz Trümpi: "Orchestrierte Vertreibung"

A very important book presentation for the Vienna Philharmonic took place in the Main Auditorium of the Jewish Museum at Dorotheergasse 11, on Thursday, November 6, 2014. Mag. Bernadette Mayrhofer and Dr. Fritz Trümpi presented their work: "Orchestrierte Vertreibung (Orchestrated Exile)". Director Dr. Danielle Spera greeted the audience, which filled the main auditorium of the Jewish Museum. She was followed by introductory words from both of the authors. The actor Wolfgang Muhr then read significant passages from the book, which were framed by numerous musical contributions.

Closing the event was the performance of the "Serenade" by the exiled Philharmonic violinist Josef Geringer, which was made possible by a score provided by the composer's  daughter, Lilly Drukker. The parts, prepared from the score for the first time, attested to the fact that on this evening a world premiere indeed took place.

We heartily recommend this volume.
