Research Associate for the Historical Archives

The director of the Vienna Philharmonic Historical Archives, Wolfgang Plank, has commissioned the two research associates Silvia Kargl und Friedemann Pestel with a systematic screening of still unexamined archival material. Friedemann Pestel, a historian at the Albert Ludwig University in Freiburg, has been engaged for a half-year period in the Historical Archives beginning on April 1, 2015. In his postdoctoral project, he is researching concert tours of German and Austrian orchestras in the 20th century, which in this context also includes the Vienna Philharmonic.
