Swiss Cultural Prize for Michael Haefliger

During the time the Vienna Philharmonic was in Lucerne (September 11 – 14, 2014), the Director of the Lucerne Festival, Michael Haefliger, was awarded the Swiss Cultural Prize by the Lucerne governmental official Reto Wyss in the Hotel Schweizerhof. This typically Swiss event was lent a special flair when Philharmonic principal flutist Dieter Flury performed the "Ziegentanz" (1921) by Arthur Honegger and "Density 21.5" (1936) von Edgar Varése for solo flute.
