Biography

lsabella Schwarz was born in Vienna, Austria, in 1997, and received her earliest training on the oboe at the age of 13 years from HelmutMezera at the Johann Sebastian Bach Music School. She later transferred to Klaus Lienbacher for the preparatory course at the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, where in 2024 she completed her diploma program with distinction. She then commenced the study of instrumental pedagogy with Harald Hörth.

She received additional musical inspiration as part of the ERASMUS program, where she studied for two years  with Jacques Tysand David Walter at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris. She also attended master classes by Christian Wetzei, Jean-Louis Capezzali, Hélène Devilleneuve, Christoph Hartmann, Gregor Witt, Ramón Ortega Queros, Fabien Thouand and Ivan Podyomov.

lsabella Schwarz has also been a prizewinner at several competitions, such as prima la musica and Musica Juventutis. With her Windobona woodwind quintet, she won the first prize at the 4th International Franz Cibulka Competition in Graz in 2022. This quintet also participated in the 73rd International ARD Competition in 2024 in Munich.

lsabella Schwarz has also gathered orchestral experience in prominent orchestras such as the Vienna Symphony (where she had a fixed-term contract), the Lower Austrian Tonkünstler Orchestra, the Vienna State Opera Orchestra, the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Vienna Volksoper.
