Matis Rullière

Matis Rullière was born in 2002 in Paris, France, and began his musical training at the age of six years. Since 2012 he has received instruction on trumpet at the mdw - University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, first in the program for the highly talented, later in the preparatory course, and since 2019 as a major in trumpet performance in the class of Prof. Martin Mühlfellner. His training has been augmented by instruction from Carole Dawn Reinhardt as well as at international master classes with Thierry Caens, Jürgen Pöchhacker and Stefan Haimel, among others.
Parallel to his studies, he has gathered early orchestral experience with such ensembles as the Vienna Philharmonic, the Vienna State Opera Orchestra, the Lower Austrian Tonkünstler Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Vienna Volksoper, the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic and the Bühne Baden. In 2024 he had a fixed-term contract as principal trumpet with the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic.
Numerous international concert tours have taken Matis Rullière at an early age to Europe and Asia, and he has also appeared as soloist with such compositions as the Trumpet Concerto in E-flat Major by J. B. G. Neruda or the Carnival of Venice by Jean-Baptiste Arban. For his soloistic performance he received the second prize at the Giovani Musicisti international competition in Treviso, Italy, in 2016.
