The Angelika Prokopp Summer Academy of the Vienna Philharmonic promotes the training of young orchestral talent.
The Angelika Prokopp Summer Academy of the Vienna Philharmonic promotes the training of young orchestral talent. The Vienna Philharmonic Summer Academy in Salzburg has existed for over ten years and is held during the Salzburg Festival. Playing in an orchestra of the highest quality is related to listening to each other, to interact with each other and to the flexibility between the musicians - this is to be learned and sharpened in the musical work ranging from chamber music in small groups to the large orchestra within the framework of the Summer Academy.
The Angelika Prokopp Summer Academy of the Vienna Philharmonic is a unique course for young musicians that focuses on orchestral playing, chamber music and audition training. For the year 2022, far-reaching conceptual restructuring has been undertaken so that an even more extensive spectrum of musical activities can be presented to the young talents.
A significant innovation is the integration of the "International Orchestra Institute Attergau" into the Angelika Prokopp Summer Academy with the associated orchestra rehearsals as well as national and international concerts.
Selected chamber music works will be prepared and performed under the direction and/or active participation of members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra during this period.
A compact, 5-day audition preparation course takes place in the last week of August and can also be attended as an independent course module.
