Biography

Viennese born Benedikt Sinko began studying violoncello at the age of five. Beginning in 2013, he studied under Prof. Reinhard Latzko at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Since 2018, he has been enrolled at the College of Music and Theater Munich with Prof. Julian Steckel.

As soloist and chamber musician, Benedikt Sinko has participated in numerous national and international competitions and has been awarded several prizes. These include first and second prizes as well as a special prize at the national competitions Prima la Musica 2011, 2012 and 2013, and prizes at the International Violoncello Competition in Liezen 2012, the International David Popper Competition 2013, and the competition U19 Chamber Music 2014.

Benedikt Sinko has also received important artistic impulses through participation in master classes with Clemens Hagen, David Geringas, Robert Nagy, Josef Luitz and Marko Ylönen. In addition, he has collected orchestral experience as a substitute with the Vienna State Opera Orchestra.
